First Voice of Muslim Youth Provincial Election Engagement Session

The First Voice of Muslim Youth Provincial Election Engagement Session is a unique opportunity for Muslim youth to discuss issues that are important to them with Candidates from each major Political Party running in this year's Provincial Election.
Date: Saturday, September 10th
Time: 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Location: Ben Franklin Place, The Chamber 101 Centrepointe Drive
Provincial Party Candidates speaking at this session:
Wali Farah, New Democratic Party of Ontario Candidate for Ottawa-South
Alex Hill, Green Party of Ontario Candidate for Ottawa-West Nepean
Yasir Naqvi, Liberal Party of Ontario for Ottawa Centre
Fred Sherman, Progressive Conservative of Ontario for Ottawa-Vanier
Each candidate will have the opportunity to introduce himself, his campaign, and his political platform.
The candidates will then be asked to respond to questions presented by Muslim youth related to 6 Priority Areas identified by Muslim youth that relate to the mandate of the Provincial Government.
The Key Priority Areas identified are as follows:
1) Child and Youth Mental Health
2) Academic Standards within the Public Education System
3) Tuition Fees
4) Job Creation and Underemployment
5) Supports for Immigrants and Refugees
6) Youth and the Ontario Criminal Justice System
There will be time after the responses to these questions for an open question period for audience members, with priority given to questions from Muslim youth (defined generously as 35 and under).
